MY
VISION
"Inclusion and access are very important values to me"
I wanted to share my decision on running for School Committee. I have been involved in volunteering on school boards since my kids were at the Robinson. I now have a child at QMS and a child at MHS. I have volunteered on School Council at Robinson, J/J, and now QMS.
I also served on the Equity Audit Strategic Planning Team, offering my insights and experience of being a parent to kids with special needs. I am very proud of the work that came out of that committee that was made up of administrators, teachers, and parents. I know our district really strives to make our schools places of learning and empowerment. I appreciate the team approach the district has taken in the past.
I also served on the committee that updated our District’s Vision and Mission Statements. A lot of time, discussion, and work went into finding the right words that get across to our community the goals of our educators.
Inclusion and access are very important values to me. I would like to continue working with our schools on their initiatives to make our schools a place of belonging for all students. I am appreciative of all the community outreach, opportunities to have our voices heard, and the ability to allow our input in the goal of working towards a better environment for our kids. I would be honored to continue that community minded approach as your next School Committee member.
I will be planning some meet and greets this month and I would love to hear your thoughts on our schools, your experiences, and your ideas to continue the momentum our school community has started.
